Position Summary

The Client Associate – Pharmacy Services serves as a strategic support to internal and external clients with a focus on stop-loss risk mitigation and pharmacy cost containment. This role is responsible for supporting the evaluation of pharmacy claims trends, specialty drug exposure, PBM performance, and emerging cost drivers. The position works closely with clients, PBMs, stop-loss carriers, and vendor partners to support pharmacy risk management initiatives and optimize pharmacy benefit programs.

What will your job entail?

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a support resource for pharmacy risk management and PBM account support.
  • Assist with client pharmacy benefit initiatives with an emphasis on reducing stop-loss exposure and controlling specialty drug spend.
  • Analyze pharmacy claims, utilization patterns, high-cost claimants, gene therapies, GLP-1 utilization, and specialty drug trends.
  • Participate in pharmacy risk assessments and development of recommendations to mitigate financial risks.
  • Monitor PBM performance, contract guarantees, rebate arrangements, and cost-containment programs.
  • Support PBM procurement, implementation, renewal, and vendor management activities.
  • Prepare executive reports, stewardship reviews, risk assessments, and client presentations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support strategic pharmacy initiatives.
  • Monitor emerging therapies, pipeline drugs, and market trends that may impact stop-loss performance and employer plan costs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, Pharmacy, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in PBM account management, pharmacy consulting, stop-loss, employee benefits.
  • Strong understanding of specialty pharmacy, formulary management, manufacturer rebates, and PBM operations.
  • Experience evaluating pharmacy claims data, financial reporting, and pharmacy risk trends.
  • Knowledge of stop-loss principles and high-cost claimant management.
  • Strong client-service, relationship management, and project management skills.
  • Advanced Excel, reporting, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

The target salary range for this position is $62,000.00 - $70,000.00 annually.

The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
