As Head of Procurement for RWE Renewable’s Onshore Wind, PV and Storage pipeline in Australia within our Europe & Australia Procurement team, you will be responsible to define & implement the supplier strategy for the Australian market embedded into the global strategy for Wind Onshore, PV and Storage projects. You take full responsibility for all main CAPEX and EPC and/ or BoP contracts during the development and construction phase and optimize our supply chain measures throughout the entire project life cycle both from project and project portfolio perspective.

 

Your future role:

  • Development and implementation of an active supplier relationship management with  suppliers for main components and services
  • Leading of local content projects to strengthen the supply chain within Australia
  • Management and negotiation of large and complex project tenders for all external lots for the respective technologies (Wind Onshore, PV and Storage)  in multidisciplinary and international teams
  • Development, implementation and management of purchasing strategies for these contracts
  • Development of an optimized and standardized tendering process for the project development and construction contracts
  • Development and implementation of an active stakeholder management with colleagues from the development, construction and operation departments as well as management in country and headquarter
  • Alignment management with Global Category Procurement for PV modules and Wind turbines outside of Australia
  • CAPEX cost planning for new projects and grid interconnection works during prior and during financial investment decisions.
  • Preparation of decision templates for the management including risk mitigation and cost-benefit analysis.

 

Your profile:

  • Several years of working experience in Procurement on an international level including proven leadership-, management- and project management skills; Consultancy background advantageous
  • Several years of relevant experience in management and processing of large and complex tenders for EPC contracts and/or for power plant / industry or infrastructure projects (Capex / Opex) within Australia and internationally
  • Strong strategic and commercial awareness combined with both analytical skills and the ability to drive complex Procurement projects
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and effectively and maintain key stakeholder relationships within suppliers
  • Successfully completed studies in engineering or business economics, additional legal qualification advantageous
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
  • Intercultural understanding and experience in working with different cultures
  • Very good communication skills (spoken and written) in English - other languages advantageous (e.g. German)
  • Willingness to travel within Australia as well as internationally
  • Can do attitude
  • Great team player
