About the role
Shape how RWE’s Italian renewables portfolio performs in the market. This is a high-visibility role at the intersection of Renewables and Trading, giving you a combined view of commercial, market and operational levers to maximise value and accelerate the energy transition.
- Lead route-to-market tenders for renewables and battery storage, securing optimal commercial terms and robust risk frameworks.
- Manage and enhance existing route-to-market and subsidy agreements, partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence.
- Analyse market and regulatory developments to identify and implement revenue optimisation opportunities across operational assets.
- Act as a key commercial partner for stakeholders across the renewables business, providing market insights and commercial assessments on projects and strategic initiatives, while facilitating collaboration with the wider trading organization
- Deliver asset and subsidy accreditations with Terna and GSE, ensuring agreements and assets are accurately reflected across internal systems and processes.
- Navigate a dynamic, fast-growing environment, balancing urgent operational topics with longer-term initiatives as new opportunities emerge.
Job requirements and experience
- At least five years’ experience in commercial asset management, energy trading or a closely related role.
- Strong knowledge of the Italian electricity market and regulatory framework, with experience applying this knowledge in a commercial setting.
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent analytical and numerical capabilities, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Sound judgement when using AI to support market analysis and reporting, including the ability to evaluate outputs critically.
- Fluency in Italian and English, with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.
- A decisive, entrepreneurial and resilient approach, with the ability to move from analysis to action and take accountability for outcomes.
Advantageous, but not essential
- Experience with route-to-market contracts and other commercial agreements; a strong network in the Italian energy market is a plus.
- Experience with dispatch of renewable assets in the Italian market, particularly imbalance cost optimisation.
