Personal Trainer
About this role
The JOHN REED Personal Trainer will deliver a unique and cohesive member service with our proper use and practices on the fitness floor and assist with our members in the achievement of their fitness goals through personal training bookings for our JOHN REED locations. This role will report to and receive guidance from the Club Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accommodating the unique needs and goals of each member, including fitness assessments to help them choose safe and effective fitness programming that aligns with their goals.
- Empower and educate members with a clear understanding of our fitness program offerings and build a relationship with members and clients alike.
- Help book clients, as they request, for one-on-one personal training.
- Develop and lead one-on-one personal training sessions akin to the members’ goals.
- Monitor and instruct members on the fitness floor on the safe and effective use of cardiovascular, flexibility and strength training equipment.
- Empower and educate members as an active floor trainer, with a clear understanding of various fitness techniques so that they motivated to stay committed to their workout.
- Assist members in creating goals, and ways to motivate their workouts, encouraging fitness plans, opportunities to book personal training, and join our signature group fitness classes.
- Monitor member satisfaction to ensure a consistently evolving world-class fitness experience, echoing the brand values.
- Conduct frequent and thorough walk throughs of the club to ensure the floor is photo-ready – that equipment is properly and neatly stored, and the space reflects the elevated experience we provide.
- Consistently look for current and new trends in the fitness industry to elevate members fitness techniques.
- Support the Club Manager as a strategic team player within the team.
- Any other tasks and/or duties as assigned by management.
- Minimum of 2 years of personal training experience in a fitness environment.
- Degree in field preferred (Exercise Science, Physiology, Kinesiology, or Sport Management).
- Enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable about the local community fitness industry.
- Able to interact in a positive and professional way with members, exceeding the members’ expectations.
- Nationally Certified Training Certificate must be current or obtained before start date.
- CPR/AED Certification must be current or obtained.
- Organized and structured, coupled with a warm and friendly nature.
- Must be able to lift upward of 50lbs.
- Must be able to climb and descend stairs multiple times a day.
Compensation: $20 per hour plus $50 class rate
