Automation Technician
About this role

Ascenza is the crop Protection branch, a benchmark independent player in the off-patented South-European, Brazilian and Mexican markets, with a leading position in Iberia.
Mission:
Identify opportunities for improvement in automation and control and ensure the implementation of new technologies in the automation field, guaranteeing the maintenance and correct functioning of the equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for identifying and implementing improvement projects in the area of automation, control, and instrumentation
- Ensure the implementation of new automation methods, technologies, control methods, and data acquisition
- Provide support in projects (scope and SAT/FAT), as well as in the commissioning of new equipment and ensure its proper functioning after startup
- Ensure the management of technical documentation (electrical schematics, R&D)
- Manage PLCs, control systems, and database systems (Omron, SCADA, Historian)
- Ensure the proper functioning of equipment and its maintenance, monitoring plant maintenance activities daily
- Diagnose faults (PLC, I/O, inverters, PROFINET/EtherNet/IP networks, Profibus)
- Ensure interconnection and support to other areas, from the perspective of continuous improvement
- Actively participate in meeting plant objectives and maintenance KPIs
- Ensure the execution of corrective maintenance and compliance with the preventive maintenance plan for equipment, instrumentation, control systems, and industrial networks
- Ensure the correct functioning of equipment in terms of safety, quality, environment, and energy
- Manage and analyze data that allows for the diagnosis of equipment failures (PLC, I/O, inverters, network)
- Collaborate and support external suppliers in the diagnosis of failures
- Actively participate in team activities with a view to the development of third parties and the achievement of strategic objectives
The talent we're looking for:
- Technical degree in Automation, Control and Instrumentation or Automation, Robotics and Industrial Maintenance or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in industrial process automation and continuous improvement techniques
- Solid knowledge of PLC programming (preferably Omron), HMI consoles, inverters and supervisory systems
- Knowledge of Aveva/Wonderware Historian (preferred)
- Knowledge of robotics
- Planning skills
- Ability to analyze and implement new technologies and continuous improvement
