Executive Chef – New Ballpark Commons Concept

Location: 7075 S. Ballpark Dr., Franklin, WI 53132
Salary: $45,000–$55,000 annually, dependent on experience
Employment Type: Full-Time
Concept: To Be Announced

About the Opportunity

Something new is cooking at Ballpark Commons.

We are looking for an experienced, creative, and hands-on Executive Chef to take the reins of the culinary operation for our newest venture at Ballpark Commons in Franklin, Wisconsin.

We're keeping the concept under wraps for just a little longer, but this new space will bring together food, drinks, entertainment, and an energetic guest experience under one roof.

This is an opportunity to get involved from the beginning. Our Executive Chef will help bring the culinary side of the concept to life, build and develop the kitchen team, establish standards and procedures, and take ownership of the day-to-day execution of the kitchen.

We're looking for someone who can lead from the front — someone who cares about great food, develops strong teams, understands the business behind the kitchen, and isn't afraid to jump on the line when needed.

What You'll Do

As Executive Chef, you will oversee all aspects of culinary operations, including:

  • Lead the opening and ongoing operation of the kitchen
  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and develop culinary team members
  • Help execute and refine the menu and overall culinary vision
  • Establish recipes, portion standards, prep procedures, and kitchen systems
  • Maintain consistency in food quality, presentation, portioning, and execution
  • Manage food costs, labor costs, inventory, ordering, receiving, and waste
  • Build strong relationships with vendors and ensure appropriate product quality and availability
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements
  • Develop and maintain opening, closing, prep, cleaning, and inventory procedures
  • Work closely with the General Manager and Ballpark Commons leadership on overall operations
  • Support special events, private events, promotions, and high-volume programming
  • Monitor kitchen performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
  • Create a kitchen culture built around accountability, teamwork, communication, and respect
  • Be hands-on and willing to step into any position necessary to support the team and operation

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for a chef who understands that being an Executive Chef is about more than creating great food — it's about successfully running a kitchen.

The ideal candidate will have previous culinary leadership experience in a restaurant, bar, entertainment venue, high-volume operation, or similar hospitality environment.

You should bring:

  • Previous experience as an Executive Chef, Head Chef, Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or similar culinary leadership role
  • Strong leadership and team-development skills
  • Experience hiring, training, scheduling, and managing kitchen employees
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety
  • Experience with food costing, inventory, purchasing, portion control, and waste management
  • Ability to maintain quality and consistency during high-volume service
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with front-of-house management and senior leadership
  • Creativity balanced with an understanding of cost, execution, and profitability
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced entertainment and hospitality environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business needs require

Compensation

$45,000–$55,000 annually, dependent on experience.

Help Us Build What's Next

This isn't a position where you'll simply inherit someone else's kitchen.

You'll have the opportunity to help build one.

From developing the kitchen team and establishing systems to helping shape the food experience guests associate with our newest concept, the Executive Chef will play an important role in bringing the next addition to Ballpark Commons to life.

The concept is still under wraps — but not for much longer.

If you're a passionate culinary leader who's ready to take ownership of a new kitchen and help us build something exciting from the ground up, we'd love to hear from you.
