Position Purpose

Rocky Mountain Human Services is expanding our diagnostics program and adding a new psychologist to our interdisciplinary team! We provide high quality, family-centered assessments and evaluations to children and specialize in autism. We can provide intensive training and support to clinicians regarding how to evaluate young children, including the administration, scoring, and interpretation of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2). Funding is also available to support additional training opportunities.

Our team is committed to ensuring that every child has access to early assessment and intervention and works collaboratively with Early Intervention therapists (including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and early childhood special educators) and Service Coordinators to support families through the diagnostic evaluation process. This position could also include opportunities for providing clinical supervision to graduate student trainees, providing intervention to children with developmental differences and autism, and offering trainings and consultation to our community partners. Essential Duties

Conduct psychological assessments for diagnostic purposes that are strength-based and focused on areas for growth

Prepare clear, detailed, and compassionate comprehensive reports that provide actionable recommendations

Attend and participate in transdisciplinary team meetings of early childhood professionals

Participate in parent, community, departmental, and professional training efforts

Provide consultation and clinical support to colleagues and department staff as needed

May carry an intervention caseload with children ages 1 to 18 years old, providing individual and/or family therapy

Potentially supervise graduate students, clinical fellows, or post-doctoral fellows

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge of Early Intervention systems at local, state and national levels, including standards of practice

Ability to respond to and engage with children of different ages and from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and their families

Experience with best practice diagnostic measures for autism spectrum disorders (e.g., ADOS-2/ADI-R)

Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for common child and adolescent disorders

Knowledge of a variety of evidence-based therapeutic interventions for autistic children

Qualifications Qualifications

Doctorate degree in Clinical, School, or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited doctoral program

Licensed or eligible for licensure with the Colorado State Board of Psychologist Examiners

Experience (2 years minimum) working with children with autism and other developmental delays or disabilities

Experience with a range of assessment measures used with toddlers, children and adolescents as part of comprehensive autism evaluations

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to evaluate children in both English and Spanish

Familiarity and experience working within Early Intervention/Part C services and systems

Experience with administering, scoring, and interpreting all modules of the ADOS-2

Experience with intensive early behavioral intervention for young children with autism

Experience with DC:0-5 classification system and/or DM-ID-2

Registered and current with Committee for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH)

Essential Functions

Works with clients, families and appropriate community agencies as necessary to facilitate services for staff, stakeholders or clients

Ability to meet/work with staff, stakeholders or clients in a variety of settings

Attends staff, team and department meetings

Develops and maintains records, plans and reports

Lift and/or carry 20 lbs.

Sit, stand, walk for reasonable periods of time

Performs related work as assigned

Ability to drive personal or company vehicle

Attends in-services, staffing and other meetings with supervisor’s approval (may be appointed to committees)

Driving Requirements

Valid drivers license

Proof of motor vehicle insurance

Personal vehicle in good operating condition for use during work

No major violations in the past three years.

No more than two moving violations in the past three years

Ability to meet and maintain agency driving requirements and operate agency vehicles
