Summary Job Description
This position is responsible for the repairing and maintaining of machinery and facilities, both interior and exterior. Some examples would be, electric motors, pneumatic lines, hydraulic lines, conveyor systems, various furniture production equipment, electrical systems, rooftop and ground level dust system components, water lines, minor plumbing and various other plant related maintenance.
Essential Duties
Provide or assist in the repairs and maintenance of facility machinery and utilities.
Observes equipment in operation and determines the need for repairs.
Disassemble equipment as necessary to allow for proper repairs.
Examines and verifies that new components are acceptable for use on equipment.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control mechanisms to assure proper equipment function.
Cleans, lubricates, and provides preventive maintenance to equipment per factory and company standards.
Operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking equipment to make and repair parts as needed.
Knowledgeable and experienced on both power and hand tools
Assists in repairs to electrical equipment
Must follow all safety policies and procedures
Carry out all essential duties required in the Maintenance Department daily.
QualificationsPosition Requirements
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous maintenance experience required
Vocational or trade school training in any maintenance field is a plus

Prolonged periods of walking and standing and performing repetitive tasks
While standing, position will require bending, squatting, kneeling and twisting
Must be able to work in noisy environments
Must have manual dexterity in order to operate tools as directed
Frequently lifting/carrying objects up to 50 lbs.; occasionally lifting/carrying objects up to 100 lbs.
Able to climb ladders and catwalks to maintain dust, boiler and air make up systems.
