This position is required to set up, operate and feed Tenon Machine and machine furniture parts.
Essential Duties
Must be able to identify wood species such as maple, ash, mahogany and walnut
Required to setup, feed and operate the Tenon machine
Trims, notches, rabs, groves or otherwise cuts furniture parts on the Tenon machine
Makes basic visual inspection of parts and discards those with obvious defects
Checks first piece run and spot checks whenever operating machine to validate specifications
Counts parts and records quantities on work sheet
Sets up and makes adjustments required during run
Pushes finished product to next operation
Required to use a tape measure to verify measurements on the wood
Must follow all safety policies and procedures
All other duties assigned
QualificationsPosition Requirements
High school diploma or GED preferred
Experience running a Tenon machine in the manufacture of wood products

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling and twisting throughout the day
Frequent repetitive motions requiring grasping, pushing, and pulling
Occasional reaching at, above, or below shoulder level
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently; rarely up to 75 lbs.
