The Field & Network Support Technician is responsible for providing technical support for end users while assisting with the maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of the organization’s network infrastructure. This position provides onsite support at company locations and requires regular travel between facilities to install, maintain, and support computer systems, network equipment, and end-user technology.
This role combines desktop support with hands-on networking responsibilities and is ideal for someone looking to expand their networking knowledge while supporting manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically skilled, organized, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
End User & Field Support
Provide Tier II and Tier III technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, peripherals, and production-related technology.
Install, configure, and maintain Windows workstations and software applications.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
Perform onsite support across multiple facilities as needed.
Set up new employee workstations, user accounts, and equipment.
Assist with Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and related technologies.
Image, deploy, and replace computers using company standards.
Provide excellent customer service while resolving technical issues.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot local and network printers.
Diagnose and resolve printer hardware, connectivity, and print issues.
Coordinate printer repairs with third-party vendors when necessary.
Provide technical support for plant and production equipment, including computer systems and network connectivity associated with equipment such as AOKE cutters, Gerber systems, Lectra equipment, and other manufacturing technology.
Work with production teams, equipment vendors, and internal IT resources to troubleshoot technology-related issues impacting plant operations.
Network Support
Assist with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of:
Network switches
Wireless access points
Firewalls
Routers
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues including:
VLANs
DHCP
DNS
TCP/IP
Assist with switch replacements and network upgrades.
Help maintain network documentation, diagrams, and IP address management.
Monitor network performance and escalate infrastructure issues when necessary.
Assist in implementing network security best practices.
Project Responsibilities
Participate in IT infrastructure projects including:
PC deployments
Network refreshes
Office and plant relocations
Hardware lifecycle replacements
Production equipment technology upgrades and installations
Assist with documentation of procedures and technical standards.
Support cybersecurity initiatives and endpoint security.
Coordinate with vendors and plant personnel during the installation, troubleshooting, or replacement of technology connected to production equipment.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
3-5 years of IT support experience.
Working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, TCP/IP networking, DHCP, DNS, and network printers.
Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel regularly between company locations.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting plant production equipment and associated computer/network systems, including AOKE cutters, Gerber, Lectra, or similar manufacturing equipment.
Experience supporting IT systems in manufacturing and production environments.
Experience with Cisco, Aruba, Ubiquiti, or similar networking equipment.
Knowledge of structured cabling.
Basic PowerShell scripting.
CompTIA A+.
CompTIA Network+.
Microsoft certifications preferred.
