Schedule: Monday-Saturday, 7am-7:30pm 12 hour shifts

SUMMARY:
As a Clinical Nurse in Dialysis, you are responsible for planning, directing and evaluating treatments with a patient and safety centered focus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assessment & Planning. Complete initial and ongoing assessments; Communicates assessment data and patient needs to other healthcare providers, monitors patient response to dialysis, prepares care plans, education and treatment interventions as well as document outcomes of care
  • Implementation & Evaluation. Demonstrate an ability to provide care in a professional manner by establishing and maintaining nurse-patient relationships; evaluate and revise plan of care based on current assessment data
  • Leadership & Education. Assume responsibility and accountability for leadership role on the unit care team; initiate and document education plan for the patient/family based on identified learning needs

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Licensure as an RN in New York State.
  • Effective 1/1/2014, BLS required for all new candidates prior to hire.
  • BLS required for all internal team members by 12/31/2014.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • For per diem or part-time positions within dialysis, 1 year prior experience strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.
