Housekeeping Aide


The Housekeeping Aide performs housekeeping and cleaning activities within well established guidelines and assigned areas. 
Follows daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.    
Cleans assigned areas, including slick floors, carpeting, walkways, furnishings and fixtures according to floor care and housekeeping procedures.    
Provides floor care service to hard surfaced floors and carpeted floors, including routine cleaning and heavy duty cleaning.      
Cleans up spills when accidents occur.     
Cleans movable and stationary furnishings and fixtures.    
Dusts, spot cleans, washes, disinfects and polishes surfaces as required.    
Empties, cleans and relines waste baskets.    
Straightens and arranges furniture as directed.    
Inspects furnishings for wear and defects and reports to supervisor.    
Cleans bathrooms.    
Cleans and disinfects fixtures, floors and walls, mirrors and replenishes bathroom supplies.    
Cleans walls, windows and doors.    
Spot cleans between washings.    
Washes and disinfects when necessary.    
Cleans entrances and exits as directed.    
Cleans all horizontal services as required removing dust, dirt, greasy film using disinfectants as necessary.    
Performs technical cleaning duties according to established procedures in Patient Care areas.    
Performs cleaning duties in isolation units as needed.    
Removes waste and disposes of waste.    
Maintains storage areas.    Maintains lighting fixtures.    
Cleans windows as directed.    

Minimal Education:High school diploma or GED preferred.  

Minimal Experience: One year experience in a health care setting preferred.
