About this role
Job Purpose:
Responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance activities related to civil and building fabric works, ensuring all facilities are maintained to the highest standards of safety, quality, and functionality. The position supports day-to-day maintenance operations by responding promptly to repair requests, identifying defects, and completing assigned works efficiently. Working closely with maintenance teams and site stakeholders, the role contributes to the overall reliability, appearance, and operational readiness of the facility.
How you will make an impact (Key responsibilities):
1. Civil Maintenance & Repair Works
- Carry out carpentry works including the installation, repair, and maintenance of doors, frames, cabinets, partitions, wooden fixtures, and related fittings.
- Install, repair, and maintain aluminum doors, windows, frames, and associated hardware.
- Perform glass replacement and installation works for glass panels, doors, windows, and related components.
- Undertake minor masonry works including tile repairs, grouting, gypsum board fixing, patch repairs, and painting touch-ups.
- Inspect building elements and civil structures to identify defects, damages, and maintenance requirements.
2. Building Operations & Maintenance Support
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine inspections to identify maintenance issues and potential defects before they impact operations. Support general building maintenance activities and assist other maintenance teams when required.
- Report equipment, structural, or facility-related issues requiring further corrective action.
- Assist with emergency, urgent, and planned maintenance activities as directed by the supervisor.
3. Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with company procedures, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times.
- Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and maintenance risks immediately to the supervisor.
- Ensure completed work meets established workmanship, safety, and quality standards.
4. Documentation, Material Control & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain records of completed maintenance activities and report work progress to the supervisor.
- Monitor material usage and report requirements for consumables, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing facility appearance, reliability, and maintenance efficiency.
- Contribute to minimizing maintenance backlogs and ensuring timely completion of work orders.
Qualifications & Skills
- Secondary School Certificate, ITI, Certificate, or Diploma in Civil, Carpentry, Building Maintenance, Electro Mechanical, HVAC, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-5 years of experience in Facilities Management, Building Maintenance, Civil Maintenance, or a related environment.
- Practical experience in carpentry, aluminum works, glass installation, masonry, painting touch-ups, and gypsum board repairs.
- Ability to install and repair doors, windows, frames, partitions, cabinets, and related fixtures. Good understanding of building maintenance practices, tools, materials, and repair techniques. Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, measurements, and maintenance instructions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to civil and building maintenance. Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and quality standards.
- Good communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
