Roles and Responsibilities
- Deliver both classroom and hands‑on instruction on mission planning, airspace and maritime deconfliction, operational risk management, pre‑/post‑flight procedures, and integration of unmanned systems into tactical and logistics operations
- Prepare trainees to integrate unmanned systems into tactical and operational planning for improved situational awareness and real‑time decision‑making
- Continuously modernize and expand curriculum to reflect evolving technologies and operational requirements
- Evaluate current training tools and recommend updates that incorporate advanced capabilities for multi‑domain instruction
- Performs travel and driving duties as necessary to support operational and contractual requirements
- Support overall operational readiness by advising on unmanned systems maintenance, repair, deployment, and compliance
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Active Secret security clearance
- Valid driver’s license and obtain/maintain any required certifications
- Strong work ethic with excellent English communication skills (Spanish required for some roles)
- Ability to work independently with high attention to detail
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position which may include walking, standing, bending and moving materials throughout the workday in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to work non‑standard schedules (nights/weekends as needed)
- Ability to write professional correspondence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office applications
- Ability to comply with all cybersecurity and IT policies
- Ability to maintain professional conduct and follow all applicable regulations
- Three years’ experience as active-duty service member in at least one of the following specialties: NSW Operator, USA Special Forces, Ranger, USMC MARSOC, Force RECON, AF SPECWAR Operator, JTAC, or Drone Operator, USN Robotics Warfare Specialist, or other agency equivalent
- Four years’ leadership and instructor experience in a formal training environment with no degree, or two years’ leadership and instructor experience in a formal training environment with a degree or certificate from an accredited U.S. college in education, engineering, or instructional development
- Three years’ experience in a technical environment (technical writing, rewriting, and updating curriculum) on Unmanned Air Systems
- Four years’ experience as a U.S. Navy Enlisted Qualification (NEC 805A) Instructor or another agency equivalent
- U.S. Navy Master Training Specialist (MTS) certification or another agency equivalent
- Four years’ experience in course curriculum management and providing instruction
- Fluent in English; ability to also speak fluently in Spanish and/or French is preferred
- Four years’ collective experience working with/implementing the following Naval Instructions, or equivalent Agency or relevant to this course: OPNAVINST 5100.19 Series, Safety Precautions for Forces Afloat; OPNAVINST 3500.39 Series, Operational Risk Management
- Four years’ experience in logistics and maintenance support
- Ability to obtain High-Risk Instructor certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain current Mississippi Statewide Security Guard Gun permit
- Ability to obtain and maintain current a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A)
- Shall be able to maintain Level 1 Fitness Standard
