Position Overview

RMGS, Inc. is currently recruiting a Technical Instructor - UAS/UxS Operations and Planning in Stennis, MS. The Technical Instructor will provide instruction in a formal training environment and support course curriculum development and management related to UAS/UxS operations, systems, equipment, and planning. The position requires extensive instructional experience, technical curriculum experience, and familiarity with applicable Navy instructions, maintenance, safety, operational risk management, and high-risk training requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in a formal training environment supporting UAS/UxS operations, planning, systems, and technical courses.
  • Support the development, review, rewriting, updating, and maintenance of course curriculum related to UAS/UxS operations, systems, and equipment.
  • Manage and maintain course curriculum to ensure training materials remain accurate, current, and aligned with applicable requirements.
  • Apply applicable Navy instructions and requirements within assigned courses, including safety, operational risk management, maintenance, and arms, ammunition, and explosives physical security requirements.
  • Support logistics and maintenance requirements for assigned UAS/UxS systems and associated equipment.
  • Support high-risk training involving dynamic and static small arms live-fire activities in accordance with applicable Government requirements.
  • Complete required instructor qualifications, Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS), screenings, certifications, and Government training.
  • Perform administrative functions and data entry using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications, including Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Prepare correspondence in accordance with SECNAVINST M-5216.5, Correspondence Manual, as required.
  • Comply with applicable DoD, Navy, USSOCOM, NSW, cybersecurity, information technology, network, and security policies and requirements.
  • Maintain professional conduct, excellent work ethics, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and meeting required deadlines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the training mission.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • One of the following education and experience combinations:
    • Six (6) years of leadership and instructor experience in a formal training environment without a degree; or
    • Four (4) years of leadership and instructor experience in a formal training environment with a degree or certificate from an accredited U.S. college in Education, Engineering, or Instructional Development.
  • Minimum three (3) years of technical experience involving technical writing, rewriting, and updating curriculum related to SOF-unique UAS/UxS systems and equipment.
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience as a Navy Enlisted Qualification (NEC) 805A Instructor or sister service/agency equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • U.S. Navy Master Training Specialist (MTS) certification or equivalent agency certification.
  • Minimum six (6) years of experience in course curriculum management.
  • Minimum five (5) years of collective experience working with and implementing OPNAVINST 5100.19 Series, OPNAVINST 3500.39 Series, OPNAVINST 4790.4, and OPNAVINST 5530.13C within applicable courses.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in logistics and maintenance support of U.S. Navy systems, UAS/UxS, and associated equipment.
  • Fluent in English. Fluency in Spanish and/or French is preferred.
  • Ability to complete required PQS, mental, medical, and financial screening and obtain Commanding Officer concurrence within six (6) months of employment to qualify as a High-Risk Instructor in accordance with OPNAVINST 1500.75 Series.
  • Ability to support courses incorporating dynamic and static small arms live-fire activities.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a current Mississippi Statewide Security Guard Gun Permit.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a current Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A.
  • Ability to maintain the Level 1 Fitness Standard, including the ability to manipulate course equipment, board and disembark vessels, and remain underway during training evolutions.
  • Valid state driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain required vehicle and equipment licenses or certifications.
  • Ability to work non-standard schedules, including weeknights and/or weekends, as required to support training requirements. Non-standard shifts are coordinated in advance and do not exceed eight (8) hours.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to successfully complete all Government-required training associated with assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to comply with applicable Government cybersecurity, information technology, security, and acceptable-use policies.
