Role Overview

The Registered Nurse are responsible for supervising day-to-day health services activities. Health Services provide services and support for foster care, residential and ACS involved youth. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides general medical care and treatment to individuals supported per program, on site. 
  • Performs physical examinations and preventative health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions. 
  • Provide health evaluations, assessments, and screenings with follow ups.
  • Review all Pediatric guidelines for care, including immunizations and testing 
  • Records physical findings based on the patient’s condition. 
  • Participate in clinical team and other health professional to prepare comprehensive patient care plan utilizing historical and current information 
  • Conducts and assists in medical examination of youth after incidents. 
  • Provides health education to youth supported, including reproductive health education.
  • On call for all triage, sick, urgent and quick coverage, questions and consult calls for assigned programs (if this pertains to the Program that you are covering).
  • Administer Medication. 
  • Train staff. 
  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State. 
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. 
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university preferred. 
  • Experience working with pediatric populations is preferred; candidates with strong nursing experience in other clinical settings are encouraged to apply. 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive nursing care, assess patient needs, and implement appropriate interventions. 
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team while maintaining high standards of patient care and documentation. 
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a diverse healthcare environment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full time position-hours are based upon the needs of the Program and will be discussed prior to employment. Work is conducted in clinical settings within program facilities.
