Overview

The RN provides care management to Individuals with Developmental Disabilities under the OPWDD regulations. Supervision of Staff in regard to delegated nursing tasks such as but not limited to medication administration, medical care, participation in team meetings, education and training within scope of practice. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Supervision for all staff providing medical support to Individuals withing the residential program.
  • Ensure effective medical care with proper documentation. 
  • Ensure the medical well-being of the Individuals within a safe and clean environment. 
  • Implement, monitor and supervise the Staff regarding trainings, delegated nursing tasks and AMAP staff. 
  • 24-hour telephone triage with a 30-minute response time as per OPWDD regulations. 
  • Attends meetings as required: clinical meetings, nursing meetings, ISP meetings residentials staff meetings and other meetings as required. 
  • Maintain HIPPA regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • RN, prefer BSN, at least 1 year work experience.
  • Current NYS nursing license and BLS 
  • OPWDD experience and knowledge
  • Ability to utilize nursing assessment skills in an autonomous environment. 
  • Critical thinking skills necessary to monitor and analyze medical records, reports, triaging calls and supervision of Staff as needed.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 

Full Time: 35 hours/week-5 days
