Position Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for the loading of will call customers and the loading/unloading of steel, rebar and other construction materials for the Rio Grande Co. You will provide support for a wide variety of warehouse duties, while always maintaining a safe working environment. This position is non-supervisory role and reports to the Delivery Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive/Load shipments, while verifying accuracy of materials
  • Move parts and materials with a forklift and by hand
  • Ability to assist customers, load delivery trucks and stock materials
  • Performance of various housekeeping tasks to ensure work areas are clean and free of safety hazards
  • Responsible for informing members of the leadership team of shortages, overages or damaged materials
  • Work cooperatively with fellow team members to accomplish warehouse/parts goals
  • All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1-year experience working in a warehouse, preferred
  • A minimum of 1-year experience driving a forklift, preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, with a safe driving history
  • High School Diploma and/or GED preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Work Environment:

  • Constant work performed outdoors with potential exposure to natural weather elements such as heat, cold, sunlight, darkness, wind, rain, lightning, snow and dust

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent work operating a forklift
  • Constant work performed while standing, walking, bending, lifting and climbing on/off of semi-truck beds
  • Frequent exposure to fumes, such as diesel, propane and paint.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stop, and kneel
