About this role

Registered Nurse (RN) Delegator — Home Care

Seattle & Tacoma, WA | Per Diem / Contract | Field-Based | Pay Between $50 - $57/hour

About the Role

We're looking for licensed Registered Nurses to join our team as Nurse Delegators, providing nurse delegation services to clients receiving home care and private duty support throughout the greater Seattle and Tacoma metro areas. In this role, you'll assess client care needs, delegate appropriate nursing tasks to qualified caregivers, and provide the ongoing supervision required to keep our clients safe, stable, and well cared for in their own homes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who wants flexible, field-based work with meaningful client impact, while applying strong clinical judgment and documentation skills.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct in-home client assessments to determine whether a nursing task is appropriate for delegation
  • Verify that the client's condition is stable and predictable before initiating or continuing delegation
  • Confirm caregiver eligibility, including current Nursing Assistant-Registered (NA-R), Nursing Assistant-Certified (NA-C), or Home Care Aide (HCA) credentials
  • Obtain and document informed client (or authorized representative) consent to the delegation process
  • Develop specific, written delegation instructions for each client and task, including procedure steps, predictable outcomes, risks, and reporting parameters
  • Teach and verify caregiver competency through direct observation or return demonstration before delegating a task
  • Provide ongoing supervision and reassessment at least every 90 days (every two weeks for the first four weeks when insulin injections are delegated), per state requirements
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the client record, consistent with agency policy and Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission standards
  • Communicate promptly with agency leadership, caregivers, and health care providers regarding changes in client condition, orders, or care plans
  • Support quality assurance efforts by identifying and reporting trends, incidents, or concerns related to delegated care

What We're Looking For

  • Active, unencumbered Washington State RN license (or active Multistate/Compact RN license)
  • Prior experience in home health, private duty nursing, long-term care, or community-based care settings preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and independent decision-making skills
  • Comfortable and willing to travel to client homes across the Seattle and Tacoma service areas
  • Excellent written documentation and communication skills
  • Current CPR certification; reliable transportation and valid driver's license
  • Experience with dementia care, fall prevention, or chronic disease management is a plus

Schedule & Compensation

  • Flexible, per diem/contract schedule based on client caseload and delegation visit needs
  • Field-based role serving clients throughout King and Pierce counties (Seattle and Tacoma areas)
  • Competitive per-visit or hourly compensation, commensurate with experience
  • Mileage reimbursement for travel between client homes
