JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Racket Sports, the Racquet Shop Attendant plays a lead role in enhancing customer service experience for club members involved in racket sports. This position involves providing first class service to the racket sports club members. They are to ensure that club members have access to necessary equipment and items in the shop while ensuring the courts are well maintained. The attendant will assist with inventory, process sales transactions, and maintain an organized environment. The role requires engaging warmly with club members and keeping them informed about upcoming events and new products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate customer service for Club members.
- Maintain cleanliness of tennis court areas and tennis shop.
- Manage the sales process, including processing transactions for club members.
- Ensure the shop is clean, organized, and visually appealing always.
- Ensure water coolers are cleaned and restored with water and ice daily.
- Answer questions for club members regarding tennis equipment and products.
- Ensure tennis court areas are ready for play.
- Inform club members about upcoming tennis events and court availability.
- Perform duties outlined on daily duties sheet.
- Maintain a proactive and engaged presence by consistently staying productive.
- Tennis Shop TV should be tuned to sports or news channels only.
- Process tennis court reservations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent customer service skills for Club members
- Attention to detail for ensuring shop and tennis areas are organized and clean
- Maintain a neat, dressed nicely and well groomed.
- Clothing should be clean and in good condition, and free from holes. Hats should be worn properly always.
- T-shirts are not permitted.
- Working knowledge of the sport of tennis
- Ability to work successfully as a team member
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Must be able to work Mondays- Fridays and some weekend as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of tennis equipment and apparel.
- Experience working in a sports or recreational environment.
- Previous experience working in retail or customer service.
