Make a difference to someone's recovery journey

At Rethink Mental Illness, we believe that everyone severely affected by mental illness should have a good quality of life. We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Wellbeing Support Coordinator to join our Derbyshire Recovery and Peer Support Service.

This is an exciting opportunity to support people who may be experiencing a range of mental health challenges and complex needs. Working closely with individuals receiving support from Everyturn Mental Health, you'll help people identify their strengths, build confidence, access community resources and take positive steps towards recovery and independence.

If you're someone who can build trusting relationships, inspire hope and empower people to achieve their goals, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role

As a Wellbeing Support Coordinator, you will work directly with people who need additional support to navigate services and connect with opportunities in their local community.

You'll take a person-centred and recovery-focused approach, helping people develop practical solutions around issues such as:

  • Mental wellbeing and recovery
  • Housing and welfare support
  • Benefits and financial wellbeing
  • Social isolation and community engagement
  • Employment and volunteering opportunities
  • Accessing relevant health and support services

Working collaboratively with colleagues, carers, statutory services and community organisations, you'll help ensure individuals receive the right support at the right time and feel empowered to take control of their recovery journey.

What you'll be doing

  • Building positive, supportive relationships with people accessing our service
  • Identifying needs and supporting the development of personalised recovery plans
  • Providing practical and emotional support to help individuals achieve their goals
  • Signposting and referring people to appropriate local services and resources
  • Supporting people during times of crisis with empathy and professionalism
  • Working closely with partner organisations and community services
  • Promoting independence, wellbeing and recovery
  • Monitoring progress and identifying any concerns or risks
  • Contributing to a flexible, collaborative and supportive team environment
  • Helping identify gaps in local support provision and opportunities for service development

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting people and understands the challenges faced by individuals with complex needs.

You will have:

  • A Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience supporting people with multiple or complex needs
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A compassionate, resilient and empathetic approach
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload
  • Experience working with external agencies and community services
  • An understanding of risk, safeguarding and professional boundaries
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a team
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
