Description
The Assistant Branch Manager is Responsible for assisting with the direction and administration of Branch operations & Ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed. Will Oversee the provision of a full range of services to members and prospective members & ensure that members are promptly and professionally served. Acts as Branch Manager as necessary. The assistant branch manager will train, direct, and assist in supervising Branch staff.
Position Responsibilities:
- Ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with established Credit Union policies, legal and regulatory requirements, and audit standards. Provide suggestions for improved effectiveness.
- Ensure that the Branch balances all transactions at the close of each day. Manages tellers, runs related reports, and balances the vault at the end of each day. Provides assistance to Tellers as needed. Complete month end certification of all cash items and negotiable instruments
- Promote Branch business development and seeks to broaden member base. Actively cross-sells Credit Union products and services.
- Assist with orientation of new employees and staff training sessions. Ensure that personnel are well trained in all phases of their respective jobs. Perform cross training as necessary.
- Replace Branch Manager as necessary. Assist with personnel functions as assigned.
- Provides assistance, direction, and supervision as needed, including guidance for Member Service Representatives and tellers.
- Reviews and monitors the work of Branch personnel. Provides suggestions and support as necessary.
- Assists with determining appropriate staffing levels and scheduling employees.
- Assists with tracking individual progress and conducting performance appraisals. Formulates and implements corrective actions as needed.
- Completes other duties as assigned, including cross training in current or other departments
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years’ experience in similar or related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of Credit Union products, services, and policies.
- Understanding of Teller/Member Service Representative functions.
- Knowledge of Loan Sales Officer duties.
- Good supervisory abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Stationary work, often requiring standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Operate standard office equipment and keyboards
- Visually recognize, reconcile, and verify numerical details for accuracy
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Must be able to access and navigate facility with reasonable accommodations
- Lift and carry small parcels, packages and other items
