Production Coordinator
About this role
We are seeking a Production Coordinator to join our Garner, NC facility. This individual supports the day-to-day execution of the supply chain and scheduling functions within a print and packaging manufacturing facility. This role works closely with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure production schedules are accurately planned, materials are available, and customer delivery commitments are met. The coordinator serves as a key liaison between scheduling, production, procurement, and customer service to ensure smooth operational flow.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating production schedules based on customer demand, capacity, material availability, and operational constraints.
- Monitor schedule adherence and flag risks related to delays, material shortages, or capacity conflicts.
- Communicate schedule changes to production, purchasing, and customer-facing teams as needed.
- Support daily and weekly scheduling meetings, providing data and follow-up action items.
- Coordinate the flow of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to support production schedules.
- Track material inventory levels and work with procurement to ensure timely replenishment.
- Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems related to orders, schedules, material requirements, and inventory.
- Generate and analyze supply chain and scheduling reports (e.g., backlog, on-time delivery, inventory status).
- Identify trends, bottlenecks, or inefficiencies and escalate recommendations to the Supply Chain Manager.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on scheduling accuracy, inventory optimization, and service levels.
- Support standard work, documentation, and process improvements within the supply chain function.
- Assist with audits, inventory counts, and compliance with internal controls and safety requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in supply chain, scheduling, production planning, or manufacturing coordination.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment; print, packaging, or converting experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Effective communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
