The Facilities Planning Construction and Management (FPCM) Team consists of talented and dedicated professionals who plan, design, build, maintain, and serve all CUNY campuses. Fleet cars are used by the Team’s project managers, assistant directors, and executive staff to transport them to perform site visits and attend meetings throughout the CUNY campuses

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a member of the Team, you will serve as a Fleet Maintenance Coordinator Intern. You will use your excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills to ensure the Department's fleet of cars is in pristine working condition.

The Fleet Maintenance Coordinator Intern is responsible for the safety, reliability, and longevity of each vehicle in the fleet. This entails ensuring fleet vehicles receive scheduled cleaning, maintenance checks, and repairs by coordinating vehicle drop-off and retrieval from the garage repair shop and car wash. They will report directly to the Fleet Coordinator for supervision, monitoring the condition of each fleet car, and developing best practices.

As the Team's Fleet Maintenance Coordinator Intern, you will also be responsible for activities that require driving fleet vehicles, including trips to and from garages and car washes. Must have experience driving in NYC during high-volume traffic conditions.

Qualifications and Core Competencies

  • Enrolled in a CUNY school, working towards a degree

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Clean driving record

  • Experience driving in NYC during high-volume traffic conditions

  • Demonstrate driving abilities by taking a driver’s test

  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and web-based applications, is preferred

  • Excellent writing, interpersonal, customer service and presentation skills

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and changing needs and priorities

  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work independently

Pay Range:

$17.50/hr
