Project Safety Manager II - Traveler

Summary:
The Project Safety Manager II implements the RES Safety Management System (SMS) on wind, solar, substation, transmission, or energy storage projects in the US or Canada.
Requirements:
- Promotes company safety culture through coaching, development, influence, and training.
- Acts as subject matter expert and liaison for health and safety for the project team and client.
- Serves as key liaison to regulatory agencies and third parties during audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Prioritizes daily, weekly, and monthly goals for Project Safety personnel.
- Develops and maintains Site Safety Plans, Site Rules, Emergency Response Plans, JHAs, and Site Orientations.
- Oversees Permit to Work processes.
- Delivers safety training and leads safety meetings.
- Conducts inspections, investigations and corrective actions.
- Maintains safety metrics and reports.
- Facilitates injury management, emergency response, and drug/alcohol testing.
- Procures and manages PPE and safety resources.
- Supports severe weather response and risk assessments.
- Operates company vehicles safely and complies with company policies.
Safety:
- Ensures safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.
- Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates at-risk behaviors.
- Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
- Ensures JHAs occur before scopes of work commence.
- Adheres to standard operating procedures.
- Receives and delivers job-specific safety training.
- Follows technical, quality and safety systems and determines appropriate action.
Leadership:
- Provides leadership and direction to Project Safety Manager I/II personnel assigned to projects.
- Leads safety culture initiatives and serves as project safety leader with clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety related field preferred.
- NFPA 70E/CSA Z462 certification required.
- CHST/CUSP/OHST/NCSO certification required or CSP/ASP/GSP/SMP/CRSP/CHSC equivalent.
- OSHA 30/510 required; OSHA 500 preferred.
- First Aid/CPR/AED and EMT certifications preferred.
- 5+ years construction safety experience required; 7+ years preferred.
- 5+ years utility/energy industry safety experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to travel 76-100%.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, CSA, ANSI, DOT, EPA, electrical safety, incident investigation, root cause analysis, subcontractor management, work at height, confined space, trenching and excavations, cranes, heavy construction, and Microsoft Office.
- Functional competencies include collaboration, teamwork, communication, casting the right shadow and demonstrating active care.
Anticipated base salary range: $110,000 - $138,000
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
