Outpatient Mental Health Therapist
About this role
Definition:
Provide guidance, direction, and counsel clients with mental health diagnosis/histories in an outpatient setting. The individual will act as contact for clients and assist them with their concerns and problems. Mental Health Therapists will provide treatment/therapy and rehabilitative services to include family therapy and parenting support groups. This person will conduct intake and assessment as well as program orientation for family members, monitor and supervise visits. Individual will work to assist client reach their goals and objectives to include assisting the client back into the immediate family structure.

Education and/or experience:
Knowledge of Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Policy, Nursing or other related field; human relation skills a must; Knowledgeable of diagnosing and treating clients with mental health disabilities; should become familiar with criminal justice system and community resources. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently with all levels of management, employees, and clients; ability to deal effectively with clients and referral sources, self-starting, motivated and adept to changing technology; Proven skills at problem solving, conducting research; Should be computer literate in word processing, spread sheets and databases. Ability to communicate and help the clients express their own needs and aspirations.
Masters' Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field and a minimum of two (2) years experience in the mental health field required. License preferred.
