Intake Coordinator

Definition
The individual in this role will work closely with the Allegheny County Courts, the Department of Human Services and Jails, the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections and the Federal Bureau of Prisons to provide inmates with a successful transition from correctional facilities to Renewal, Inc. Individuals in this role will work closely with reentrants entering into Renewal, Inc.’s work release, mental health work release and drug and alcohol inpatient programs. Individuals in this role will ensure reentrants are oriented to the center and all necessary assessments and evaluations are conducted with designated time frames, in accordance with guidelines set by Renewal, Inc. and contractors such as the Allegheny County Jail, the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the Pennsylvania Department of Probation and Parole, United States Probation and community referral sources.
Eligibility Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
Knowledge of criminal justice is required. A demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently. Self-starting, motivated, and adept to changing technology and conducting research; writing skills and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite to employment. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) skills required.
Associates degree in Criminal justice or human service field with 2 years’ experience required. Valid PA Driver’s License required. Pennsylvania ACT 33 and ACT 34 Clearances required.
