What’s the role about?

As our Senior Product Developer, you’ll play a key role in driving the sourcing and product development strategy across your categories, deputising for the Senior Product Development & Buying Manager when required. Working closely with Design, Buying, Merchandising and Technical teams, you’ll take ownership of the product journey from initial concept through to production, ensuring commercial, quality and critical path targets are achieved.

You’ll build strong supplier partnerships, lead on product pricing and margin, and help develop innovative product that reflects the Reiss brand DNA. This is a hands-on role for an experienced Product Developer who can confidently manage their own categories while supporting the wider team and driving product forward.

Who you are

  • You’ll have strong previous experience in Product Development or Production within a fashion retail or premium brand environment.
  • Commercially minded, with proven experience in cost negotiation, margin management and supplier selection.
  • Highly organised with a strong understanding of the product development process and critical path management.
  • A confident negotiator and communicator who can build strong, productive relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused, with the confidence to challenge, influence and make decisions to keep product moving forward.
  • A collaborative team player with strong garment knowledge and a genuine interest in product, sourcing, innovation and sustainability.

What you’ll be doing

  • Deputising for the Senior Product Development & Buying Manager when required, while taking ownership of sourcing and product development across your categories.
  • Managing supplier relationships, including cross-costing, supplier appraisals, corrective actions and supporting the onboarding of new suppliers.
  • Owning product pricing and margin across your categories, negotiating cost prices and identifying opportunities to improve product value without compromising the design vision.
  • Working closely with Design and suppliers to develop new and exciting product, managing development specifications, samples and delivery dates for seasonal buy meetings.
  • Managing the category critical path, monitoring key milestones and proactively escalating risks to ensure product is signed off within the required lead time.
  • Working closely with Buying, Merchandising and Technical teams to ensure product progresses smoothly from development through to final delivery.
  • Attending fit meetings and using your garment knowledge to advise on technical changes, cost implications and potential impact on lead times.
  • Working with the Sustainability Coordinator and Fabric Coordinator to develop more sustainable fabrics and trims, while supporting the wider Reiss sustainability strategy.
