Role Details

We are seeking a Head of Information Security to protect Regent’s. You will own the institution’s security posture, risk and policy, and will hold the rest of the organisation to account for compliance, setting expectations and outlining remediation.

You will lead a lean cyber function through influence and relationships, reserving formal authority for the moments that need it. You will also deliver Professionalise Security: a single 360 security-first strategy that integrates cyber, privacy and continuity, and carries Regent’s through the parent group’s security tiers. In addition, you will co-chair the Data Privacy and Information Security Group, will work closely with the Data Protection Officer, and will be the sole IT security voice in governance forums.

To be successful, you’ll have experience in managing security posture, risk and policy in a complex organisation and a background of leading, developing and motivating a team. You can speak to your experiences of achieving and maintaining recognised certifications and compliance regimes (such as Cyber Essentials Plus and PCI DSS for card-payment environments) and in running organisation-wide security education and awareness programmes. You’ll be an engaging people leader who wins support through influence, trust and relationships across teams. In addition, you will be calm and authoritative in an incident and able to hold senior colleagues to account constructively.

Whilst we offer flexible and hybrid working across the University, you will be required to work on-campus at least 2 days per week.
