Summary:

The Portfolio Manager is required to have extensive knowledge of commercial and consumer loan and deposit processes, policies and system. This position will have an extensive understanding of the loan approval process from initial request through approval and booking. The Portfolio Manager will work efficiently with lenders, staff, and loan ops to meet customer needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for identifying and coordinating the approval process for new and renewed loans.
  • Participate in preparations of loan approval forms by working with credit analyst and lenders.
  • Maintain a good understanding of loan policies, pricing guidelines, collateral requirements, and risk ratings.
  • Complete analytical research on loan portfolio include concentration, stress testing, and exceptions trends
  • Participates in evaluating risk ratings and makes revision recommendations
  • Serves as daily escalation resource to ensure client expectations are met
  • Completes ongoing portfolio review of past dues, exceptions, and maturing loan reports
  • Monitors, collects and tracks financial information on new and existing borrowers
  • Monitor’s construction loans, loan advances and pay downs; ensures funding of construction loan disbursements in accordance with bank policies
  • Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues
  • Prepare summary reports for Board and Management review
  • Other duties as assigned

Education And/Or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum of Five (5) years of Loan Assistant Experience with knowledge in Commercial and Consumer loans

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills required
  • Detail oriented and ability to work under pressure of deadlines
  • All candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment background, credit, and drug screening

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Sitting for long periods of time.

Working Conditions:

The working conditions are generally comfortable with minimal exposure to noise, heat, dust and other related items. All employees are required to maintain a neat and safe work area.
