The Senior DevOps Engineer Role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a key technical owner of our cloud infrastructure and deployment ecosystem. You will work across engineering to build highly reliable infrastructure, automate operational processes, strengthen our security posture, and make it easier for teams to ship quickly and safely. This is a hands-on role. We are looking for someone who is exceptionally strong in both AWS and Azure and can operate comfortably across complex cloud environments. You should be the person engineers turn to when something needs to be architected, automated, scaled, secured, or fixed. You will have significant autonomy and ownership, with the opportunity to shape our infrastructure and DevOps practices as the company scales.

  • Own and evolve our cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, highly available cloud architectures

  • Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and other automation tools

  • Own and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and release automation

  • Manage and optimize Kubernetes and containerized workloads

  • Establish strong observability across infrastructure and applications, including monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance metrics using DataDog

  • Build systems and processes that improve reliability, uptime, scalability, and disaster recovery

  • Partner with Engineering and Security to identify and remediate infrastructure and cloud security risks

  • Manage cloud networking, identity management, object storage, RDBMS, access controls, secrets management, DNS, load balancing, and related infrastructure

  • Automate repetitive operational work and eliminate manual processes wherever possible

  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and lead infrastructure-related incident response

  • Establish and improve infrastructure standards, documentation, and operational best practices

  • Help evaluate and implement new cloud technologies and tooling as our architecture evolves

  • Support the infrastructure requirements of high-scale AI/ML workloads

  • Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar for cloud infrastructure and operational excellence

  • Help define the long-term architecture and roadmap for our cloud and DevOps environment

  • Work with compliance resources for SOC2, ISO, and FedRAMP certifications

Who you are.

  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Cloud Infrastructure, or a closely related discipline

  • Expert-level experience with both AWS and Azure — this is a core requirement

  • Deep understanding of cloud architecture, networking, security, scalability, and reliability

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Terraform or comparable Infrastructure as Code tooling

  • Strong experience with Kubernetes and Docker/containerized environments

  • Deep experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines

  • Strong Linux systems administration and troubleshooting skills

  • Experience with cloud networking, including VPCs/VNets, routing, DNS, load balancers, firewalls, and VPNs

  • Strong understanding of IAM, secrets management, encryption, least-privilege access, and cloud security

  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms and practices

  • Strong scripting/programming ability in languages such as Python, Bash, Go, or similar

  • Experience operating production systems where reliability and uptime matter

  • Excellent incident response and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and take ownership from architecture through implementation and operations

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with software engineers, security teams, and technical leadership

Within 3 months, you’ll…

  • Develop a deep understanding of our AWS and Azure environments and identify the highest-priority infrastructure risks and opportunities

  • Establish strong relationships with Engineering and Security

  • Take ownership of critical infrastructure and operational processes

  • Identify and eliminate meaningful sources of manual work and operational friction

  • Improve reliability, observability, and deployment processes

  • Begin implementing a clear roadmap for scaling our infrastructure as the company grows
