What is the opportunity?

You will be an Associate Business Analyst within Quantitative and Technology Services (QTS), assessing, improving and supporting strategic applications within the RAMPP (Risk, Analytics, Modelling, Pricing and Processing) organisation. You will work closely with Capital Markets trading desks and technology teams to define risk aggregation and visualisation requirements, coordinate testing efforts and develop and deliver target solutions.

This is a permanent, full-time role and requires 4 days in the office at our London office.

What will you do?

  • Elicit and analyse business requirements and create documentation such as current and future state business processes, user stories, data catalogues and business rules
  • Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, to various audiences (technical and non-technical)
  • Continuously identify potential issues, conflicts and risks, analysing, mitigating and escalating where appropriate
  • Collaborate and contribute to cross-functional enterprise initiatives and manage the effective implementation of assigned deliverables
  • Establish strong working relationships across business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners
  • Utilise state-of-the-art generative AI tools to realise efficiencies in day-to-day practices and working life
  • Build end-state reporting for key stakeholders using in-house built tools and Python coding
  • Standardise and drive cross-asset Risk Management analytics, solutions and dashboards, liaising with Quants, Trading and Market Risk partners to drive user adoption

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Undergraduate degree coupled with an established track record and proven expertise in business analysis
  • Demonstrable experience in capital markets settings, either within a bank or other financial institutions
  • Strong understanding of one or more asset classes in terms of their risk and profit and loss requirements for trading desks
  • Robust programming knowledge and experience in a core language such as Java or Python
  • Ability to build and analyse complex SQL queries, including troubleshooting performance issues
  • Excellent analytical skills with proven experience in data analysis, discovery and aggregation to provide meaningful analysis and management reporting

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of risk frameworks and methodologies relevant to capital markets (such as Value at Risk or sensitivity analysis)
  • Exposure to trading systems, market data platforms or regulatory requirements in capital markets
