Senior Engineering Manager, Cloud Infrastructure

Job Responsibilities :

Lead and build engineering team for cloud-based creator platform: learn its systems and engineering processes directly from the retained engineers, hire and onboard a new engineering team, and make the platform independently operable.

• Personally ramp on the platform's architecture and operations: pair with retained engineers, take a place in the on-call rotation early, and turn undocumented knowledge into runbooks.
• Manage the blended team day-to-day: retained engineers and incoming engineers.
• Build and run the onboarding path for new engineers: curriculum from the technical documentation, shadowing rotations, per-subsystem sign-off criteria.
• Track and escalate knowledge-transfer risk: maintain the subsystem-ownership map, flag single-person dependencies, and prioritize their elimination.
• Provide technical input to integration decisions.

Pre-Requisites :

• 8+ years engineering, 2–4 years managing a team, still technically hands-on — recent code or production-operations contribution, not just oversight.
• Strong in the relevant stack: Kubernetes, GCP or equivalent, event-driven microservices, TypeScript and Go.
• Evidence of learning a large unfamiliar codebase fast and teaching it to others — prior acquisition, team-takeover, or legacy-adoption experience strongly preferred over greenfield-only backgrounds.
• Comfortable with split-time zone collaboration.
