Job Description

Join Our Team as a Clinical Educator - Permanent Part-time position. 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Educator to join our dedicated Mental Health team. This vital role focuses on enhancing clinical practice, ensuring staff competence, and supporting the continuous professional development of our nursing team.

About the Role

As a Mental Health Clinical Educator, you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering high-quality education and training programs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Completing all clinical mandatory training for your position and assisting managers with staff compliance.
  • Participating in the clinical development, review, and evaluation of clinical practice and nursing competence.
  • In partnership with the Unit Manager, Executive team, and other members of the Clinical Education team, you will develop, implement, and evaluate training and education programs in line with organisational and departmental strategic plans.
  • Identifying needs for in-service education and liaising with the Unit Manager and relevant staff to facilitate these.
  • Assessing new practitioners and current staff on mandatory and department-specific competencies.
  • Supervising the performance of nursing procedures to ensure competent, safe care is delivered within best practice and statutory guidelines.
  • Ensuring all equipment is in safe working order and acting as a clinical resource for other team members in its use.
  • Carrying out other duties as directed by the Unit Manager/Director of Clinical Services or delegate.
  • Supporting preceptors, graduate nurses and new employees with documented evidence.
  • Providing education for new clinical initiatives and directives.

About You

You are a passionate and experienced nursing professional with a strong commitment to education and professional development. We are looking for candidates who ideally possess:

  • AHPRA registration
  • Post graduate qualifications in Education.
  • A Certificate IV TAE.
  • Previous experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse Specialist, or other nursing education relevant role.

You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to learning, and the ability to inspire and mentor others.

Additional Information

  • Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months.
