Facilities include 9 state-of-the-art operating theatres, two cardiac catheter laboratories, a minor procedure room, a day surgery unit, an 11 bed intensive care unit/coronary care unit and an 9 chair day therapy unit. Medical consulting suites are located onsite together with comprehensive pathology and radiology services.

Job Description
Join the dynamic catering team at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital as a Casual Catering Assistant, helping deliver nutritious meals, quality food services and friendly customer service to our patients, doctors, staff and visitors.
Reporting to the Catering Manager, you will work as part of a supportive team and assist across a variety of catering duties, including food preparation, meal plating, meal delivery, cold larder duties and maintaining a clean and hygienic catering environment.
This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in their work and is committed to providing a positive experience for our patients and customers.
About You
You are enthusiastic, reliable and customer-focused, with a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in hospitality and food services.
You are able to remain calm under pressure, work well within a team and maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and service. You are also comfortable working across a range of catering duties and adapting to changing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver meals, food and beverages to hospital patients and doctors.
- Assist with basic food preparation and meal plating.
- Undertake cold larder and sandwich preparation duties.
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of meals to a high standard.
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service to patients, staff and visitors.
- Process POS transactions where required.
- Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic food preparation and service environment.
- Complete dishwashing and general cleaning duties.
- Assist with stock management and appropriate storage of food and supplies.
- Assist with monitoring and recording Food Safety Program (FSP) requirements, including food temperatures, cleaning schedules and receipt of goods.
- Follow HACCP, food safety, infection prevention and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the catering team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Undertake other catering duties as required.
You Will Also Bring
- Previous experience in hospitality, catering, food services or customer service is desirable.
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is highly regarded.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene principles.
- Knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety requirements.
- Food preparation experience.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Reliable, punctual and professional approach.
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain food safety standards.

Additional Information
- Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months.
