Job Summary:
The Level II Radiographic Testing (RT) Technician performs nondestructive examinations using digital radiographic techniques in accordance with approved instructions and procedures. This position helps ensure materials, components, and assemblies meet specified acceptance criteria through accurate radiographic inspection, image evaluation, documentation, and quality-focused technical judgment. The technician works independently after completion of PacSci EMC site-specific qualification and may provide guidance or support to Level 1 personnel as needed.
All work is conducted in compliance with applicable NAS410 and/or SNT-TC-1A qualification requirements, ASTM E2698, customer specifications, radiation safety requirements, and company quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform radiographic inspections using digital detector arrays (DDAs) in accordance with approved procedures and technique sheets.
• Set up and calibrate RT equipment, ensuring system performance meets ASTM E2698 system qualification requirements.
• Evaluate and interpret radiographic images for indications of discontinuities and determine acceptance or rejection per applicable specifications.
• Ensure all inspection work complies with applicable NAS410, ASTM, customer, and company requirements.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, record radiographic data, and maintain traceability of digital image files.
• Verify proper functioning and calibration of digital imaging systems and software.
• Perform and document required system checks, detector performance verifications, and image quality evaluations, including activities associated with ASTM E2737.
• Provide guidance and technical support to Level 1 personnel as needed and under the direction of the Responsible Level 3.
• Report nonconformances and coordinate with responsible Level 3 for resolution of technical issues.
• Maintain compliance with radiation safety procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or higher in engineering, materials science, or related technical field preferred.
Experience
• Meet documented Level 2 RT experience requirements, including a minimum of 800 hours of applicable RT experience.
• Digital radiography (DR) / Digital Detector Array (DDA) experience in accordance with ASTM E2698 strongly preferred. Qualified conventional-film RT Level 2 candidates may be considered if they can complete required digital/DDA OJT and site qualification after hire.
• Industrial or aerospace radiographic testing experience preferred. Familiarity with AS9100, ASTM, SAE, customer specifications, or other regulated manufacturing quality systems is a plus.
Certification and Training
• Must meet Level 2 Radiographic Testing training and experience requirements under NAS410 or SNT-TC-1A. NAS410 is preferred; qualified SNT-TC-1A candidates may be considered and will be required to complete PacSci EMC site-specific qualification/certification after hire.
o Minimum 80 hours of documented formal RT training. Candidates must be able to provide verifiable training and OJT records signed or validated by the responsible Level 3.
• Must successfully complete applicable PacSci EMC general, specific, and practical examinations and site-specific qualification requirements after hire.
• Demonstrated knowledge of digital radiographic inspection techniques and ASTM E2698 required for fully digital-qualified candidates. Familiarity with ASTM E2737 is preferred and may be developed through site-specific training.

Skills and Competencies
• Experience using digital radiography imaging systems and DDA software strongly preferred; Fuji DDA / Dynamex experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong understanding of radiographic physics, image quality indicators (IQIs), and geometric unsharpness principles.
• Ability to interpret specifications, standards, and engineering drawings preferred; PacSci EMC product- and process-specific interpretation requirements can be developed through training.
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to radiation safety controls.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
• Laboratory and energetic/aerospace manufacturing environment requiring applicable PPE.
• Ability to stand 8-9 hours per day
• Lifting up to 30 lbs. occasionally
• Work may be performed in controlled radiation areas requiring dosimeters, protective gear, and strict adherence to radiation safety procedures. Nearby test events may be audible or startling.
Work Schedule:
• 4x10 schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
• Approximately 45-50 hours per week is typical, with Friday overtime/coverage and schedule flexibility as business and inspection needs require.

Pay Range
The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 23.46-43.56
