Job Description
Tektronix has an exceptional opportunity for a Field Service Technician / Calibration Technician to join our team in the Cincinnati, OH area at one of our GE Aerospace permanent onsite locations.
We are seeking an innovative problem solver who can provide creative, high-quality service solutions to our customers. The Calibration Technician will perform routine and complex work related to the repair and calibration of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment.
This role requires strong technical capability, attention to detail, customer focus, and the ability to work effectively in a customer-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Field Service Technician / Calibration Technician will be responsible for:
- Performing manual and automated calibrations, adjustments, and limited repairs on test and measurement equipment at customer locations.
- Completing calibration services within the expected timeframes assigned by lead technicians or supervisors.
- Performing low- to medium-complexity calibrations in general-purpose, torque, and related measurement areas.
- Accurately entering calibration data into tracking systems and databases.
- Creating calibration data sheets accurately and efficiently using instrument specifications and approved procedures.
- Completing all required documentation in support of customer, ISO, and quality management system requirements.
- Occasionally performing final inspection of work completed by other technicians.
- Interacting with customers regarding items requiring repair, limited calibration, or technical clarification.
- Serving as a primary Tektronix representative at the customer site.
- Performing preventive maintenance and other laboratory support functions as required.
- Following company policies, procedures, and quality management system requirements.
- Participating in RBS activities, including daily scheduling, visual management, Kaizen events, and basic problem-solving activities.
- Maintaining an efficient, organized, and professional work area.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the following combination of education, experience, and skills:
- Typically requires 3–6 years of related experience.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work on semi-routine assignments while recognizing when alternate, acceptable calibration methods may be required.
- Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, and Excel.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to meet company vehicle requirements.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- College degree or continued technical education.
- Military Metrology / Calibration training, such as PMEL or TMDE.
- Two-year technical certification.
- Experience calibrating equipment in one or more of the following disciplines:
- Torque
- General-purpose test equipment
- Pressure
- Force
- Vibration
- Oven / Furnace Temperature Surveys
- Flow - Liquid
