$18-$20 per hour

Position Summary

The Shipping Operator is responsible for coordinating and executing the shipment of materials, tools, and equipment to RailWorks job sites and customers. This role ensures all outgoing and incoming shipments are handled safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and transportation standards.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare and package materials for shipment, ensuring accuracy and safety of contents.
  • Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and documentation for domestic and international freight.
  • Coordinate with vendors, carriers, and site personnel on pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT and transportation regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2–4 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Warehouse or yard environment with exposure to weather conditions.
  • Regular lifting up to 50 lbs and operating material-handling equipment.
  • Standing, walking, and bending throughout the workday.
