Compensation
$110,000 - $139000 / year (total compensation)
Position Summary
Primarily working on MTA C&D transit contracts, the Project Scheduler must understand the overall type and size of the contract they are working on. They should have an understanding of the different construction disciplines that will be on the project at different stages. The project scheduler must understand the number of work crews and subcontractors on the project. The project scheduler is responsible for preparing and submitting daily and weekly schedules to coordinate contractors’ and subcontractors' workforces with MTA C&D-supplied services. This includes ordering general orders, flagmen, access and protection, work trains, etc. Creating documents that track and coordinate all the work activities of the project. The project scheduler will coordinate all activities with the Project Managers, General Foreman, Field Engineers, Subcontractors, etc., who will be providing the information needed by the project scheduler. Attend scheduled meetings to document and implement all required schedule changes. Inform the project's team of any changes or conditions to the project's schedule. Managing support staff to assist in developing the required documents.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare and submit documents to indicate the contractor’s work crew size, locations, work descriptions, etc.
- Preparing and submitting general orders
- Preparing and submitting work train requests
- Preparing and submitting requests for access and protection services for the contractor to access existing rooms.
- Updating 6 week look ahead schedules
- Coordinating all MTA C& D supplied services between all subcontractors
- Tracking all documents being created for evaluations monthly.
- Tracking lost time of the contractors’ men due to late flagging or track access.
- Tracking work assigned and work completed.
- Manage and train support staff as required
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction, Engineering, or related field
- 5-Years of scheduling experience on Transit Contracts
- Strong Knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Works outdoors at construction sites and indoors
- Likely works off-hours and weekends to match construction schedules.
- Frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, stoops, and crouches while negotiating work areas under construction
- Sits, reads, writes, and uses a keyboard
- May be exposed to harsh weather conditions including very hot and very cold weather
- May be exposed to loud noise.
