About the role
At RACV, the health, safety and wellbeing of our people is fundamental to everything we do. We're looking for a proactive and solutions-focused Health & Safety Coordinator to play a key role in supporting our Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) strategy across a diverse and dynamic organisation.
This is a fast-paced, admin-focused role ideally suited to someone who thrives under pressure, enjoys juggling competing priorities and takes pride in keeping systems, records and processes running smoothly. It’s a great opportunity for someone early in their WHS career, or with a strong administrative background, looking to build strong foundations while working alongside an experienced HSW team.
You’ll support a positive safety culture by coordinating incident processes, keeping our safety systems accurate and up to date, supporting reporting, and helping with HSW initiatives.
What you'll be doing
As our Health & Safety Coordinator, you'll work closely with leaders and employees across RACV to support the effective operation of our HSW Management System and help support compliance with legislative requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading incident triage across RACV, ensuring incidents are appropriately categorised, accurately reported, escalated and closed out.
- Supporting incident investigations and driving corrective actions to completion.
- Monitoring incident trends and contributing to safety communications and alerts.
- Administering key safety systems and data accuracy, including DoneSafe, SolvInjury, ChemAlert and LinkSafe.
- Preparing insightful HSW reports, dashboards and compliance reporting.
- Supporting audits and self-insurance compliance activities.
- Coordinating safety campaigns, events, training programs and qualification courses.
- Maintaining training records and ensuring refresher requirements are managed.
- Identifying opportunities to improve safety processes, systems and ways of working.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders and providing administrative and coordination support across the HSW team.
What you'll bring
Essential
- Strong administrative experience, ideally in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- A high standard of data management and record keeping with the ability to multi-task.
- Confidence learning and managing a range of system applications, with a willingness to pick up new platforms quickly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights and reports.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities from multiple disciplines.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
- A genuine interest in building a career in health, safety and wellbeing.
Desirable
- Experience in health and safety coordination, incident management or safety system administration.
- Awareness of health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
- Experience using safety management systems such as DoneSafe, ChemAlert or similar platforms.
- Experience coordinating training programs, safety initiatives or continuous improvement projects.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or a willingness to work towards, or currently completing, one.
