A Day in the Life:

As our Commis Pastry Chef, you'll work alongside a talented team of pastry professionals at Le Petit Gâteau, supporting the creation of Melbourne's most celebrated cakes, pastries and desserts. From preparing ingredients and baking to finishing exquisite products with precision and care, you'll play an important role in delivering the exceptional quality our guests know and love.

Working in a fast-paced and creative kitchen, you'll gain exposure to a wide variety of pastry techniques while developing your skills under the guidance of experienced chefs. With a strong focus on teamwork, attention to detail and continuous learning, every day offers an opportunity to refine your craft and contribute to an iconic Melbourne pâtisserie.

 

What You'll Need:

  • Qualified Pastry Chef with a completed apprenticeship or Certificate III in Patisserie

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, pâtisserie, hotel or similar hospitality environment

  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, including baking, desserts, mousses, glazes and cake preparation

  • A keen eye for detail and passion for producing high-quality products

  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow your skills

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • A team-first mindset and commitment to delivering exceptional results

  • Flexibility to work across a 5-day roster, Monday - Friday.
