Job Overview

Heard and Smith, LLP, a dedicated law firm committed to advocating for those in need, is seeking a diligent and professional Call Centre Representative to join our remote team. This is a Full-Time/ part-Timeposition ideal for an individual with excellent communication skills and a strong eye for detail. In this role, you will be a crucial part of our operations, ensuring the timely acquisition of medical records and supporting our legal team in building strong cases for our clients. You will thrive in our supportive, fast-paced environment and contribute directly to our mission.

Key Responsibilities

As a Call Centre Representative, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative and communication-based tasks, including:
 

  • Proactively engaging with medical providers to request and obtain medical records essential for client case development.
  • Handling all incoming calls from medical providers and the Social Security Administration (SSA) in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Implementing and maintaining a systematic follow-up process to ensure all outstanding records requests are fulfilled.
  • Expediting urgent requests for medical records by contacting providers directly to facilitate a swift response.
  • Reviewing and managing invoices related to medical records, making approval or denial decisions based on established criteria.
  • Compiling, organising, and accurately submitting medical records to the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR), while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the following qualifications and attributes:

Essential:
 

  • A High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in a customer service role.
  • Proficient typing skills with a minimum speed of 45 WPM.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a talent for active listening.
  • A collaborative team spirit, combined with the self-motivation and discipline to work effectively in a remote capacity.


Desirable:
 

  • Familiarity with Social Security Disability Law or a background in medical fields would be highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience working successfully in a remote role.
  • Bilingual abilities are considered a strong asset.
  • Further education or relevant vocational training.
