About this role

We are looking for a SMALL EQUIPMENT/PICKUP MECHANIC to join our team. As a Small Equipment/Pick Up Mechanic with Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mobile heavy equipment and supporting plant maintenance.

About the Role 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication) on heavy equipment.
  • Use diagnostic tools and specialized equipment to troubleshoot and repair machinery.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs and report major issues to senior mechanics or supervisors.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems.
  • Perform oil changes, brake repairs, tire replacement, battery service, and other routine maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, cooling, and exhaust systems.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle electrical systems, including lighting, starting, and charging systems.
  • vehicles for safety issues and ensure repairs are completed before equipment is returned to service.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance according to manufacturer and company requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts, and maintenance performed.
  • Use diagnostic equipment, service manuals, and other tools to identify vehicle problems.
  • Communicate with supervisors and operations personnel regarding vehicle condition, needed repairs, and expected downtime.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable DOT and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining parts and inventory as needed.
  • Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.

About You

We Require:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of one year of technical school training or equivalent hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Experience repairing diesel and gas engines.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems and fundamental electrical repair skills.
