UCT is looking for a talented Strategic Buyer to join us in Malaysia!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Own Part count and provide support to buyers in day-to-day Purchasing operations, including training, mentoring and leading Execution buyers in all Purchasing activities
- Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in terms, quantities and pricing
- Support the Supplier Contract Execution to ensure flawless day-to-day Purchasing activities
- Develop Maintenance Process in Lead time, MOQ/SPQ Payment Conditions, T&Cs
- Work with sourcing teams to understand direction, offer supply trend impacts and set plans and targets (Unconfirmed, Past Due, PPPC) for sourcing activity
- Propose and influence sourcing decisions based on overall Supplier performance and benefit including supply availability, price, tariff response, freight, flexibility, service, performance, quality, and T&Cs
- Provide recommendations for alternative sourcing/de-risk project
- Actively participate in SBR to drive Supplier performance improvement
- Act as a liaison for the NPI Team in all areas of procurement practices
- Lead development of complex procurement documentation
- Lead complex procurement activity where no precedents or local expertise exists
- Advise and direct internal customers on applicable policies and procedures
- Act as primary contact with Suppliers within assigned Category, internal and external Customer to facilitate problem resolution and performance standards
- Act as team leader, mentor and coach within the assigned category Purchasing team
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies (QMS/MTL), procedures and relevant regulations
- Lead overall VOI implementation, drive process improvement to ensure Suppliers’ conformance to the prescribed VOI Minimum quantity at any time
- Other tasks/projects as assigned by the superior
Knowledge, Skills, Experience:
At least 5 years working experience for bachelor’s degree in electrical / mechanical or equivalent
- At least 8 years working experience for Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical or equivalent
- Knowledge of MRP system will be advantageous
- Able to perform in fast paced environment; Preferably experience from manufacturing environment
- Possess good interpersonal and negotiation skills
Education, Certifications, Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering / science/ mathematics/ Materials /Industrial Engineering
- Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics /Mechatronics/Industrial Systems Engineering.
