UCT is looking for a talented Materials Program Mgr I to join us in Singapore!
Job Summary:
The Materials Program Manager will work with various functions and departments to drive material flow and ensure visibility of current & future material issues. It will be the core member to supporting materials strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Material Planning Management
- Provide visibility of current & future material issues to Production Planner and AO at during NBD customer review. Establish material risk management.
- Lead clear to build (CTB) for production build phases
- Coordinates demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure, manage shortage
- Provide inputs to to Category Manager (CM) Site and Customer requirements for Category Strategies in relation to material management
- Analyse and review structural shortages, (pull in / push out) of material from customer demand and provide related material strategies
- Inventory Management
- Design and collaboration with CM on the inventory programs: VOI, JIT, discrete orders, etc. – driving lead-time reduction.
- Manage and maintain the list of parts, min/max, and/or bin sizes on stocking programs
- Receive and review monthly reports from supplier with parts status of program
- Resolve any gaps between programs and Supplier execution
- Recommend risk buy or consignment
(This relates to impact inventory liability, inventory turns, cash flow relief, etc. – due to upsides, downside, slow down of businesses more effectively)
Manage ISA agreement with customers, updating quarterly ISA list / quantities.
- Burst demand request by customers – assess entire BOM materials lead-times, chronic suppliers, customer managed allocations , etc., then present from materials perspective how to support burst demand plan to support operations
- Supplier Performances
- Lead internal tiger team that may include different functions and departments to drive supplier long-term issues and improve supplier performance.
- Provides inputs to engineering and SCM in supplier selection and assessment.
- Set up and lead Material Supplier escalation meetings for critical shortages. Identify root causes and recovery plans.
- Report respective programs CTB updates in Asia CTB meeting.
- Track KPI’s and generate Reports, Metrics & Presentations
- Support customer report (Materials Health Report,, Executive Reports) and Ad-hoc requirements.
- Work with Engineering & AO to develop roadmaps for the phase-out of obsolete parts and phase-in of new product materials directed by customer.
- Be the focal point of communication with customer for the assigned project on materials related issue and attend customer meeting.
- Second level escalation point after the category lead for all and any Supplier Management issues.
- Provide details who has been worked with at Supplier, what the potential risk is and what is the latest Supplier status when following escalation path (for any and all issues listed unable to resolve)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong purchasing knowledge including processes, tool, practices.
- Good data analysis capability to identify issue, develop solutions and implementation
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong understanding of the “Clear To Build” report
- Strong knowledge of MRP (Materials Requirements Planning) system functionality.
Educational/Certification Requirement:
- Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain Management or its equivalent
Experience Requirement:
- Knowledge of MRP system will be advantageous
- Minimum 6 – 8 years’ experience in manufacturing industry
- Prior experience in leading a team preferred
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
