About this role

The starting rate for this position is $17.00 USD Hourly or higher, based on experience and education. However, it is highly encouraged to obtain your TA-1 Certification to be promoted to an Teacher Assistant position. Once certification is completed, your hourly rate will increase to $21.00 hourly. The school will assist and guide you on your path to certification.

This position requires you to work with individuals on the Autism Spectrum between the ages of 5-21 years old.

 

Job Summary

QSAC is seeking dedicated and energetic Teacher's Aide, who provide direct instructional services to students under the general supervision of a New York State certified teacher. The role focuses on small group instruction as outlined by the supervising teacher. A Teacher's Aide supports the students’ recreation, motor, vocational, socialization and communication, leisure and motor skills through the use of behavior analytic teaching procedures.

 

Additional job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure health, safety & welfare of individuals.
  • Aide classroom teacher as needed.
  • Maintain student engagement and support student in participation in classroom activities.
  • Maintain student safety.
  • Maintain participant/family confidentiality.
  • Complete required program documentation/certifications (e.g. Employee Medicals, PPD, CPR, etc. as required).
  • Commitment to company values and adherence to policies.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance is expected.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or senior management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Clearance through state mandated Background/Fingerprint Check(s).
  • Ability to run.
  • Ability to safely assist lifting individuals of various weights & 20lb items.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others and individuals served.
