Why PwC?

At PwC Australia, your skills meet purpose. We tackle big challenges across industries like finance, technology, energy, and health—giving you the chance to make a real impact. Here, your growth is our priority. You’ll work with leading teams, explore new technologies, and unlock your full potential.

Join a global community of more than 370,000 people who value bold ideas, collaboration, and lasting change. Together, we’re building trust and shaping the future.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex external audit engagements tailored to private clients, ensuring rigorous compliance with regulatory and professional standards.

  • Manage multiple audit engagements simultaneously, providing strategic direction and oversight to audit teams to ensure exceptional quality, efficiency, and risk management throughout the audit lifecycle.

  • Build, deepen, and maintain trusted relationships with private clients, including owner-managed businesses, family enterprises, and high net worth individuals, gaining a deep understanding of their business structures, financial reporting challenges, and risk profiles.

  • Provide senior-level advice and insights to clients on financial reporting, governance frameworks, regulatory obligations, and industry best practices affecting private entities.

  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement by championing advanced audit technologies, data analytics, and transformative methodologies to enhance audit quality and client experience.

  • Collaborate closely with internal leadership and external stakeholders, including regulators and advisers, to resolve complex audit issues and deliver practical, client-focused solutions aligned with PwC’s quality standards.

  • Mentor and develop senior audit staff and managers, fostering leadership capability and a culture of high performance, accountability, and professional excellence within the team.

What we’re looking for:

Core skills:

  • Financial expertise with a minimum of 8+ years’ experience in external audit, including significant exposure to private clients, owner-managed businesses, or family enterprises, and a recognised Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.

  • Proven leadership and people management experience, with a strong track record of leading multiple audit engagements, developing senior team members, and consistently delivering high-quality outcomes in a complex audit environment.

  • Exceptional client management skills, with demonstrated ability to build trusted advisory relationships, influence and engage senior stakeholders, and act as a strategic partner to private client businesses.

  • Deep technical proficiency and up-to-date knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting frameworks, and regulatory requirements applicable to private entities, with the ability to interpret and apply these to complex audit scenarios.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, capable of navigating complex financial information and business challenges to design and implement effective audit solutions.

  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with proven ability to clearly present audit findings, strategic recommendations, and value-added insights to diverse audiences, including senior clients and internal leadership.

What you’ll gain:

  • Leadership development programs and executive coaching designed to help you inspire teams and accelerate your career growth.

  • A world-class parental leave policy offering up to 26 weeks of leave for caregivers, supporting your family and personal life.

  • Flexibility means trusting you to choose when, where, and how you work—balancing what’s best for you, your team, and your clients to grow and thrive together.
