We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. This role requires strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments.
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare schedules and documentation for external audits.
- Assist with financial reporting and management reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
- Support variance analysis activities.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and resolve issues.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2-5 years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
- CPA certification or CPA candidate status.
- Experience in a multi-entity business environment.
- Knowledge of financial statement preparation and audit support.
