Summary of Duties:

The Human Resources Generalist II executes core HR functions with increased autonomy and partners with leadership to support employee lifecycle activities and policy compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assigns, Tracks, and documents employee compliance with required training; Partners with managers to address gaps.
  • Facilitates background checks, onboarding, and orientation processes.
  • Leads employee engagement initiatives, including recognition and retention programs.
  • Administers core HR programs 
  • Serves as a resource for employees and managers, addressing moderate to complex HR questions.
  • Observes and supports employee investigations and disciplinary actions.
  • Supports audits and ensures company practices align with employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Stays informed on HR trends, legal updates, and system improvements.
  • Coaches supervisors on HR policy
  • Maintains and regularly audits HRIS and employee file integrity and accuracy.
  • Assists with HR project implementation and data reporting.


Human Resources Generalist Qualifications/Skills:

•2-5 years of successful experience in human resources

•BA/BS desired

•Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures

•Knowledge of federal and state employment laws; experience with multi-state law desired.

•Must have in-depth knowledge of all major categories of employment relationship, including employee relations, safety and work environment, training, recruitment, statistical analysis, workers compensation and benefits

• Excellent communication and people skills

•Ability to effectively analyze data and provide recommendations

• Outstanding knowledge of MS Office

Experience with the following is a plus:

Willingness to learn American Sign Language and Deaf culture

PHR or SPHR Certification preferred but not required. 

Work environment:

Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time: 

  • Sitting, standing and walking (95-100%) 
  • Keyboarding (40-60%) 
  • Viewing computer monitor, videophone, and cell phone requiring close vision (40-60%) 
  • Lifting computers and other equipment. 
  • Position may require some travel.
