Description
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to manage and lead a team of unionized employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a positive and productive work environment while ensuring that operational goals are met efficiently. This role requires a motivated leader who can drive performance through effective coaching, recognition, and employee engagement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage AM dock operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow
- Supervise and lead a team of unionized employees, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Achieve operational objectives as outlined in the operational scorecard
- Monitor and manage employee performance in accordance with operational standards and performance indices
- Continuously improve operational standards through regular performance reviews, coaching, counseling, and recognition
- Communicate and implement company policies, procedures, and programs to ensure adherence and alignment across the team
- Prepare and complete various reports and documentation related to operations and employee performance
- Exemplifies and consistently demonstrates our core competencies of communication, innovation, change management, relationship building and leadership
- Perform all other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Post-secondary education is preferred but not mandatory
Experience
- 5 years of management experience, ideally within a unionized environment
- Valid Class 5 (G) license or equivalent
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated experience with following and enforcing Health & Safety and Labour Canada regulations and guidelines
- Prior leadership experience managing warehouse employees, couriers or transportation personnel
- High proficiency English (oral and written)
- Proficiency in French is considered and asset
- Must be adaptable and willing to work flexible hours to meet the demands of the operation
